KRISHI is a grassroots initiative that is the brainchild of our founder Vehaan Pilot in December 2025 to build systems that support farmers in drought-affected regions. Our model consolidates technical knowledge and detailed documentation to create a climate-resilient strategy that stands on three foundations:
Ethnographic Research: On-ground field surveys and interviews that can better our understanding of the cultural and financial barriers to sustainable farming. An expansive record of the people who we want to help ensures that they are heard.
Infrastructure Transformation: Installing low-cost, high-impact irrigation hardware in the areas our surveys indicate need it the most. This includes water-flow regulators, groundwater optimization tools, and drip lines and will help reduce water consumption while increasing crop security.
Peer Advocacy & Sensitization: An effort to bring the realities of the farm to the classroom, we will use documentary filmmaking and educational guides to spread awareness to the next generation of leaders on the importance of food security.
